For wine professionals who work in the import side of our business in Ontario, there are really only two ways to operate. One is through the LCBO’s retail system, and the other is through the Consignment Programme – private sales.

There are two Retail divisions within the LCBO – General Purchase [for the many well known and easily obtainable wines] and Vintages who buy the kinds of wine which we love to deal with. Although not exclusively, we have gravitated to Vintages to meet the retail market for our wine. Moreover Vintages provide an excellent and unequalled retail access and distribution network. This reach allows a wider customer base to enjoy our wines.

We work very closely with the LCBO’s Head Office Buying teams and also the various Wine Consultants in their stores so we can keep them appraised of our newest wines and other background details which in turn enables them to impart information to their clientele.

As part of our business relationship with Vintages we are asked us to source wines from all over the world. We consider ourselves fortunate indeed to work with the very best winemakers in the new and old world vineyards and consequently we are able to provide a constant source of excellent wines to meet marketplace demands.

On the right hand side of our Vintages price list you will see a number. This is the LCBO’s brand number. It also acts as a store location number.
